By John Schwarz

October 06, 2021

Slated to go down on October 16th is DC Fandome, a free event that showcases all of the upcoming new content from the world of DC Entertainment which will include with it a bevy of animated content. Already confirmed to show up to the event are Bruce Timm and Kaley Cuoco, the latter of whom is slated to hopefully bring with her a premiere date for the upcoming season of Harley Quinn on HBO MAX.

Warner Bros. Animation will feature a look at the upcoming limited series Aquaman: King of Atlantis; provide a sneak peek at season three of the adult animated comedy series Harley Quinn and share what’s in store for #HarIvy; deliver a very early look at the next animated chapter of the Dark Knight in the all-new upcoming series Batman: Caped Crusader; and give fans a preview of Young Justice: Phantoms (warning: there will be spoilers!).

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will preview two upcoming original DC Animated Films: a sneak peek at Superman and the rest of the Justice League in Injustice, an all-new animated movie inspired by the popular games and comic, as well as the premiere of the trailer for the all-new animated heist movie Catwoman: Hunted. Both movies are produced in association with Warner Bros. Animation.

Harley Quinn Season 3 is slated to not premiere until late 2021. Reportedly, season 3 will explore Harley’s reaction to a half healthy relationship with Ivy as well as focusing more on Ivy’s backstory as the previous two seasons were mainly focused on Harley. Schumacker said that new writers from the LGBTQ+ community have been hired because of the direction of season 2 and that it is a priority to diversify the staff for season 3. Schumacker also revealed that Dean Lorey would no longer be available to return as showrunner for season 3 and would be replaced by new co-showrunners Chrissy Pietrosh and Jessica Goldstein alongside him and Justin Halpern. Composer Jefferson Friedman rumored there would be a musical episode coming and also stated that he wanted to refresh the music to give identity for each character. In another report, Schumacker stated that his desire was to open season 3 on “an actual Zoom, where the GCPD is just being berated by the city of Gotham for their ineptitude”.
