Nature Rays and Camp Swings: A Rooster Teeth Animation Retrospective Part 1

Sex Swing (2017)

Lastly, we have another short-lived show based on a company in-joke. Or rather, a lower division of the company, Funhaus that made their own in-joke. Similar to X-Ray & Vav, Sex Swing came about thanks to a video that certain staff members to come up with a name for an 80’s rock band and Sex Swing is what they got. Soon this too gained its own small following and official merch, which naturally led to a show. This time more of a Metalocalypse type show sans the vast riches of a fictionalized band trying to get a good gig. Though, for whatever reason, this did not take off as well as Camp Camp or even the aforementioned X-Ray & Vav, and ended quietly after six episodes. And, like Nature Town, they don’t take up much time to watch, but you should keep your expectations low. Playlist here.

And that’s everything leading up to Nomad. Rooster Teeth’s done a lot in a relatively short amount of time and they seem to have big plans going forward. Whether we end up liking those plans is anyone’s guess, but for now, we sit back and watch the beginning of a potential new hit as we head Nowhere.
