Trailer Breakdown: BoJack Horseman Season Four

September 01, 2017

We are a week away from the season four drop of BoJack Horseman, but we’ve got a lot of questions before we get there concerning the future of the series, especially all of the interesting shit that had come from the show’s fourth season. As a result, we decided to dig into the trailer and see what plot points we are most interested in exploring.

A huge story that came out of the trailer for BoJack Horseman Season Four is Mr. Peanutbutter running for governor. Clearly a mirror reflection of modern politics where movie stars and reality TV show hosts have become important figures of the political circuit, it will be interesting to see how Peanutbutter’s relationship with his wife Diane will play out as the season progresses.

While Peanutbutter is creating a groundswell of support for his run for governor, Diane is more preoccupied with trying to find out where BoJack is. One has to wonder what Diane’s gonna find when she runs into BoJack i.e. does he still have feelings for her.

Diane (voiced by Alison Brie) also looks to be switching careers. In the show’s three seasons, we’ve seen her write BoJack’s memoir, travel to Cordovia, and get fired from VIM. Now she’s working at a feminist blog and already you can tell from the trailer she’s a bit down the middle in terms of her feelings towards her new position.

As for the rest of the cast, it appears to be business as usual in the crazy department. Todd (voiced by Aaron Paul) is introduced to someone who may or may not be BoJack’s kid. At the end of the show’s third season, we learned that Todd is asexual, will that continue to be the case for the show’s fourth season? As for Princess Carolyn (voiced by Amy Sedaris), I’ll be curious to see how the rebooted operations of VIM plays out in the show’s fourth season.
