Ratings Are In 1/9/17: FOX Animation Soars In Mid-Season Return
Enjoy it now, because there’s not much to look forward to for FOX animation after next weekend.
FOX animation returned with brand-new episodes in a big way last night. Granted the NFL helped out a bit in the overnights, but if you’re like me, you enjoyed the Packers fisting the New York Giants into obscurity.
According to Deadline.com, Fox saw big bumps for The Simpsons (4.9/15), Son of Zorn (2.3/7), Family Guy (1.8/6) and Bob’s Burgers (1.5/5).
Next weekend will see the one-hour episode of The Simpsons and Family Guy at a special time of 930 pm ET/PT (check your local listings for both). After that, it doesn’t appear that any original premieres of FOX animation will happen the rest of the month.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
