Who had the best new animated series of 2016? Regardless, there were a TON of new franchises this year coming from all walks of life in terms of delivery.
5) Camp WWE

While this thing toiled in developmental hell for a couple of years, WWE launched one of the best streaming services of the past decade: WWE Network. Together with Story Time WWE, Camp WWE showcased that this service has some good ideas for animated programming. Also, the 70-year old Vince McMahon is a STAR and might be one of the best new voice actors to come out this year. We only get five episodes, but it’s a really good five episodes.
4) Milo Murphy’s Law

The serious thing you should know about Disney XD, is that this isn’t even the BEST animated series of the year, but you can see the network is getting serious about originals. Those worried that the producers of Phineas and Ferb couldn’t duplicate their success should have their worries assuaged because the Weird Al-starring Milo Murphy’s Law is the real deal.
3) Dream Corp LLC
The live-action/animated hybrid series/film boom is alive and well, and Dream Corp LLC is the best of the best right now. Jon Gries gives a career-defining performance as the lovable yet terrifying “Dr. Roberts” while Stephen Merchant shows the likes of BB-8 and R2D2 who is boss in the world of droids.

2) Animals
Two kids from New York City leave promising advertising careers to create a show featuring talking animals and it works. These are the types of stories that gives me hope for the little guys out there trying to get a career in this. Season two promises to raise the bar for the franchise, and you can learn more about that here.
1) Future-Worm
It’s kind of a sketch show, it’s kind of a show with dutifully placed story arcs that older audiences can enjoy, it’s got enough crazy talk for the little guys, and James Adomian is the best voice actor in the business right now. Ryan Quincy’s best work is here and not where he won his Emmy…South Park. Best new series of the year and quite convincingly I might add.
