Review: SuperMansion “The Inconceivable Escape of Dr. Devizo”

The League is celebrating one year of keeping Dr. Devizo on lock down, and Rex is making sure the evil mastermind knows about it. After a bit of torture, we come to find out that Devizo went nuts after Rex banged his wife and as such the hero has to go find American Ranger before he becomes just like Devizo.

Meanwhile, Black Saturn does his best “Bane” impression to infiltrate The League prison so as to beat the shit out of Devizo. Unfortunately, prison life isn’t easy for Black Saturn, but when he tries to make a move, Devizo knocks his ass out, and pretty much beats the shit out of the League of Freedom all by himself sans American Ranger and Rex. Devizo walks out like he owns the joint.

Devizo heads out on to the lawn and takes Lex hostage in front of news reporters. Rex and American Ranger return from their deal, but Lex is able to escape thanks to her own devices. And while the government doesn’t see her as a real member of the League of Freedom, the house goes back to normal.

Our Take

One of the funniest episodes of the year by far, Black Saturn doing his best Bane impression is one thing I won’t be able to un-see for a while. Moreover, the conversation between Rex and Devizo was about as compelling and unnerving as Hannibal Lecter and Clarice Starling.

As mentioned though, the real strength was the gags and jokes this week. Black Saturn dealing with Groaner’s dong was so ridiculously over-the-top that I was hurting from laughing so much. Jewbot had some swell insults for Black Saturn, too as he was hauling his partner in.

Even American Ranger was great, “I have to go cam shaft a 22 year old”. Moreover Keegan-Michael Key was all over tonight’s episode in several important roles, showcasing his WIDE range of talents. Overall, one of my favorite episodes of SuperMansion by far.
