Comics Review: Poet Anderson #3

By John Schwarz

August 20, 2015

The final chapter of the Poet Anderson comics finally bridges and more or less makes sense of everything. The comics, the short film, etc, all become woven in this final issue.

In it, we follow Jonas and Alan Anderson dealing with the death of their parents, and the tricks REM pulls to try and convince them to work for him in the dream world as night crawlers. Instead, Jonas learns his true inner self when he turns into Poet and helps save him and his bro from never waking up again.

For fans of films like The Matrix, Interstellar, and the ilk, Poet Anderson is right up your alley. The franchise and stories are acquired tastes, but the pay off is well worth it. We have fantastic characters, incredible art direction both in print and in animated form (seriously, Djet is out of control good, and might be one of the few of his kind in the business), and an over-arching plot that is dense, but once you start plugging away at it you find yourself in a world that you can’t wait to explore.

With more movies and books on the way, I don’t think that’s going to be a problem.
