Review: Jeff Dunham ”All Over the Map”
It is incredible to see the type of crowds that Jeff Dunham plays in front of, and ”All Over the Map” is a testament to that. Yea, his fan base is varied ethnically, but seeing the sheer size of these audiences is a sight to behold. I mean, England, Ireland, you name it, this guy EASILY plays in front of 40+ thousand houses. I’m talking fucking stadiums that are jam-packed to the rafters all in town to see Jeff Dunham. More-over, Jeff had to come up with new material EVERY NIGHT of the week tailored to that particular audience which is a lot harder than it sounds.
Suffice it to say, no matter where Jeff goes, all of his characters just work. Walter says all of the wrong things, Bubba is a great way to make fun of America, we didn’t see a lot of Peanut, and Achmed is a star. I mean, watching him and Jeff in the Middle East is pretty unreal, and how the hell you manage to deliver terrorist jokes in Israel is nothing short of stellar.
What I learned from the special is this…everyone likes a laugh. It doesn’t matter what you look like, where you’re from, you are someone that enjoys seeing silly characters. One of the other things that really made me enjoy this special, is that it showed me that not EVERYONE hates America which isn’t the same thing I feel whenever I watch Vice. In every country, you can tell Jeff Dunham is having a HELL of a time, and that alone is worth watching.
The most captivating portion of the special was when Jeff was in Malaysia and was told that Achmed the Terrorist was NOT allowed on the show due to local government policies. Not only did Jeff pretty much do the same bit, but with a French audience, he showed the world, the promoters, and everyone else that he is willing to do what is necessary to make sure his audiences are satisfied and it doesn’t matter who the fuck says what. Pretty compelling stuff if I do say so, and just so fascinating. Maybe one of the best documentaries I’ve seen all year.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
