Review: Wild Grinders – “Survivored” and “Fast Times At Sprawl City Middle School”

Caution: Spoilers from the Avatar: The Last Air Bender lead in below!!!

Survivored:

Lil Rob is recanting to the group as to where they’ve conquered by skating. They realize the only element or location they haven’t skated yet is the ocean so Rob asks Goggles to create a board to do so. As is always the case, Goggles is ready with a solution: a Skurf board. SO they skurf to their little hearts content. That is until a huge wave washes them out to a deserted island. They attempt to build a raft but Lil Rob suggests that they turn it into a skate park instead. We get a fun montage of building the park out of coconuts then they skate it. Suddenly a game show host appears and tells the Grinders to vote someone off. Hilariously, they vote off the game show host. Unfortunately, Stumpford shows up on the island. Stumpford summons his monkey butler and orders him around. Then he sees the skate park and tries to skate it, but fails horribly. His skating aggravates the monkeys and they chase the Grinders to the edge of the island. Thankfully they had already built a raft to escape.

Fast Times At Sprawl City Middle School:

Lil Rob, Meaty and Goggles are skating to the movies.  Sadly the movie is sold out so they head to a burrito-eating contest. Then Rob realizes he’s late for a test at school. He’s late for everything! He needs a Hyper Turbo Board to keep up with his busy lifestyle and, you guessed it, Goggles already has one built. The board travels at 99% light speed, so Rob becomes first to every event. Rob presses a switch, which causes the board to go into a time warp. And worse yet, the battery won’t run out for a whole year. Meanwhile, Rob is oblivious to all of this and traveling all around town having fun and stopping crime. Goggles realizes that he has another board and sends Meaty to slow Rob down. Meaty leads him back to Goggles house. Rob’s speed caused a “Grinder-nado” which will certainly destroy the city. Rob puts the battery into his board backwards in hopes to reverse the effects of the time travel. It totally works. Rob lands at the exact moment when Goggles hands him the board and Rob is elated that he can live the day all over again.
