Review: Wander Over Yonder ‘The Bounty’
Spoilers Below
Haters is getting a bit annoyed with the fact that no matter what his minions can’t seem to capture Wander, so he hires Rongruffle the Huntress and Killbot 86, plus a haunted plant to go get the job done right. Commander Peepers isn’t fond of the newbies, so he vows to take Wander and Sylvia so he can take all of the glory for himself. Peepers and the other bounty hunters end up at an amusement park and right away Peepers can’t make the bag, so now the Huntress is on the move but she may or may not have been eaten. Killbot shows and a slugfest goes down between it and Peepers which leads to the bot and a number of amusement park patrons back at Hater’s HQ. This leads Peepers to take on the task of capturing Sylvia and Wander by himself, but what about the plant? Yep, it shows up to the park as well and Peepers imagines that the plant eats both Peepers and our two fabled heroes and brings them to the feet of Lord Hater. Hater names the Plant as his new commander with Peepers now cleaning the bathrooms! This causes Peepers to destroy the Plant leading to Wander and Sylvia to escape. This causes Hater to hire up a whole bunch more bounty hunters.
It was great to get back down to business with Lord Hater and one of the things that came to mind when watching this week’s episode was how stellar the background designs are. Seriously, Hater’s HQ looks like Tron, and the game that he was playing was rather hysterical. I loved the designs and concepts of the bounty hunters as I thought they were really smart, but I think three was a bit TOO much because I would have preferred more time with each rather than 30 seconds a piece. In any case, Wander Over Yonder is one of Disney’s best shows and it’s gonna stay that way for a while.
