@MarlonWayans to help produce an Urban-flavored ‘Funny Or Die’…Cartoons maybe??

Marlon Wayans is always going to be an important part of my life as I’ve been watching him and his family be apart of some of my favorite TV shows and movies. Obviously, In Living Color was awesome and helped spawn the careers of the Wayans Bros., but big time movie names like Jim Carrey and Jamie Foxx. Also, who can forget The Wayan Bros.? That show was the best and yea I watched it all the time until shitty 7th Heaven took its time slot (Lord giveth, Lord taketh away I suppose) and of course followed the careers of Shawn and Marlon Wayans ever since as they launched popular franchises like Scary Movie and White Chicks(honestly, one of the funniest movies I have ever seen).

So with a grand history of putting together money-making franchises I was happy to see on The Hollywood Reporter that Marlon Wayans has teamed up with Funny or Die founder Randy Adams and producer Peter Coleman as the COO for a new website called Whatthefunny.com. Evidently the site is said to be similar to Funny or Die but with an urban twist by focusing on content geared towards Latino and African-American audiences.

The obvious question for us is will the site feature cartoons?? The Wayans have a pretty decent history in animated stuff with Marlon most recently producing Thugaboo on Nick way-back-when so one would think that we would get some original animated content. I mean look at us! We regularly feature content from all over the world as well as hip hop influenced cartoons like Ginuwine’s series The Buddies so it isn’t like there aren’t already a community of developers out there looking to show off their talents and this site may be a great way to do it.
