Review: PHINEAS AND FERB “The Mom Attractor; Cranius Maximus”
Spoilers Below
The Mom Attractor
Its Candace’s turn to pick Phineas and Ferb’s next project and her pick… The Mom Attractor! Its job is to make the kids’ mom really want to come home so bad that she has to leave work. All you do is put in a bunch of stuff that their mom loves and presto! She’s home! Meanwhile, Perry has to stop Doofie from him sabotaging his brother whenever he goes to meet a baby with his contraption…the Crying-ator! Unfortunately, when the evil doctor’s machine goes off, it attracts ALL the moms in town thereby interfering with the Mom Attractor and causing all the moms to head for Doof’s lab. Thankfully, the Mom attractor becomes self-aware and snags the Crying-ator before it does any real damage.
Cranius Maximus
Baljeet believes that he is losing his smarts due to the elongated summer so Phineas and Ferb create a hat that boosts brain output. Eventually, he comes up with a plan to transfer all of the Earth’s atmosphere to the moon making the faraway planet more livable at the expense of making his home planet not-so-livable. To try and stop Baljeet from his crazy plan, Phineas and Ferb go to turn off the switch but are stopped by a newly built shield. Meanwhile, keys are going missing all over Danville and Perry has gotta stop Doof! Of course, when Perry hits up the lab he gets captured and Doof tells him of his plan to capture ALL the keys in the tri-state area this way he can open anything he wishes! His next target? The key to the city! Every year, his brother Roger holds a ceremony where he gives the key away to one lucky person and this year that one lucky person will be Heinz! Eventually, Perry gets to the machine and reverses the magnetic rays of the “Keyinator” sending all the keys back to their rightful owners, including the ones belonging to Baljeet’s machine so that the guys can shut it down right before mom gets home!
You might as well enjoy it now, kids, because in two weeks Phineas and Ferb go AWOL until July in favor of Tron: Uprising which Disney has been heavily promoting as of late. Overall, however, I preferred the “Mom Attractor” to “Cranius Maximus” as I thought the plot was a bit more novel and the songs better. However, seeing Baljeet go evil for a while was an interesting premise that I believe worked quite well. Also, I like how in ‘Cranius’ the doctor was bored so he was just killing time while Baljeet nearly destroys the world. Also, for some reason in a weekend filled with Disney superheroes (Avengers) its good to see Perry the Platypus show everyone how it’s really done!
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
