John “On The Spot” #1 of Animated Shows That Should Come Back

This for some reason was the show my mother would NOT let me watch as a kid. The Simpsons? Nothing…Mortal Kombat? Go nuts…but on January 12th, 1997 King of the Hill would premier and would not come off for 13 seasons and I loved it(but don’t tell).

That’s right, King of the Hill. Surprised? Don’t be. After 2 Emmy awards, 13 seasons, countless cameos, and millions in DVD sales, King of the Hill is the one show that should come back.

King of the Hill was the classic sitcom, animated or otherwise. Take a guy, his wife who is probably too good for him, and weird kids, but unlike other sitcoms where you would throw them into ridiculous shit, the King of the Hill episodes were probably closest to that of an every day guy named Hank, who had to get up in the morning to work at a job to feed his family. Also, unlike most animated mothers, Peggy Hill was the only working parent of them all, acting as a substitute teacher at the local public school. Bobby was a dumb kid, but not stupid dumb like Chris Griffin, more naive than anything else. And think about this, Peggy’s neice Luanne moving inwith the family later getting married and having a kid. These are all concepts that rarely happen in animation, that being story arcs and such controversial ideas as having a family.

Will this show come back? Who knows? Judge has done it before with B&B so anything is possible. But, until then, here’s hoping we see Tom Anderson sometime soon.
