Will Cleveland Brown play a bigger role in Family Guy Season 14?

BEER!

When The Cleveland Show was canceled, the first thing that got us most excited was the prospect that Cleveland Brown would return to Family Guy, and with that a real chance for a stagnant writing staff to reinvigorate a franchise that so desperately needs a shot in the arm.

Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. Instead, Cleveland was relegated to that of mostly a background character in most episodes of Family Guy Season 13and we got the same rehashed story lines that have plagued FOX’s biggest animated franchise for the better part of the last four seasons. Said story lines are clearly a result of too many executive producers that produce convoluted efforts and premises.

With the Cleveland Brown family, we had essentially a whole new cast of characters added to the Family Guy roster, but none have been really utilized thus far and that’s the most depressing part. This season Ed O’Neill is guest-starring as Joe’s dad, and we’ve had a couple of run-ins with Quagmire’s mom and dad. So, why not use a whole new character roster and have some fun with the Browns? I’d love to see Rallo go on some adventures with Stewie, or Cleveland Jr. mix it up with Chris Griffin? There is so much opportunity here to use existing characters…instead?

Check out a list of guest stars on the upcoming season of Family Guy which kicks off September 27th, only on FOX. We broke down the Comic Con trailer, too.
