Recently, Glamour magazine had a chance to catch up with Mindy Kaling, star of The Mindy Kaling Project which is set to premier on FOX September 25th In an interview Mindy was asked about her take on The Simpsons:

“Growing up, I remember my parents feeling a little wary of The Simpsons. This was the late eighties, and there was a wave of articles about TV shows that were bad for America. Then we all started watching it and loved it. Marge Simpson is the one who’s really funny. Her character looks so crazy, but then she’s supposed to be totally demure. I think [Simpsons creator] Matt Groening is a genius for giving her that hair.

    My parents did not want me to watch The Simpsons when I was
    younger either and of course I loved it once I watched it (after disobeying
    orders). I’ve watched a few trailers of Mindy’s new show “The Mindy
    Project” and I’ve decided to give it a try. There are a lot of prime time
    shows that I want to watch, but I don’t have the time or the DVR space to
    record them. I got the Hopper once my DISH coworker told me that its Primetime
    Anytime feature would automatically record all of my prime time shows that come
    on CBS, NBC, FOX and ABC everyday in HD. I don’t have to manage my DVR
    recordings as much, because these recordings are automatically deleted after eight days. I can record up to six shows at once, and skip my recorded commercials using Auto Hop.
