The first season of The Muppets is ending earlier than expected…cancel coming soon after?
ABC has updated their schedule for March, and with that came the announcement that The Muppets will premiere the final two episodes of its first season on March 1st starting at 8 pm ET/PT. The episodes airing include “Generally Inhospitable/Because…Love”.
The early finale could mean an early exit for good on the freshman series. Nowadays, when you want a franchise to take off you have to do it from the get go and I think even with the retooling effort that had happened mid season which lead to better episodes, I think it maybe was one of those ‘ too little, too late’ moments for the show.
Disney’s army is showing chinks when it comes to primetime TV, as you would think strong franchises like Marvel and The Muppets would guarantee ratings, but with this series and probably Agent Carter close behind, Tuesday Nights could look VERY different by Mid-Season 2017.
