REVISED START FOR NEW SEASON OF SQUIDBILLIES: BOYD SPECIAL!!!

Staff dude, Cybertron Messiah noticed the other night that Adult Swim ran a bump and it had to do with the new season of Squidbillies! Turns out that our originally guesstimated time frame was inaccurate and instead the series will happen this Fall on Adult Swim with all new episodes. Even better news, the bump mentioned that there will be a special revolving Boyd. For those who don’t know Boyd (played by Pete Smith) is the guy who runs the town convenience store that Early is frequently the customer at and is also the one who is constantly getting his arm shot off. The Boyd special is said to be going in depth on the character, as well as the said voice actor.

Not much more is known about the new season of Squidbillies, but no one else on the planet brings you more news about Adult Swim, so keep checking back and we will certainly get you guys the Squidbillies news you deserve!

For those that might have been a bit nervous at the fact that this past season of Squidbillies only consisted of SIX episodes as opposed to the normal 10 or 13 Adult Swim usually asks for, worry no more! There WILL be new Squidbillies coming in 2013 as confirmed by this tweet from the Squidbillies Twitter handle.

 

Thank the frig Christ, too because Squidbillies is a great show and we love it dearly here at the Blabber household. If I were a betting man I’d bet another start date sometime in July 2013. In the meantime check out our interviews with Squidbillies co-creators Jim Fortier and Dave Willis.

Just in case if the Animation Domination inspired pumpkin stencils  weren’t your fancy, Adult Swim’s got you covered as they have a bunch of Squidbillies inspired blueprints to certainly help make your pumpkin stick out from the normal neighborhood pack. Not only can you carve out your favorite characters like Curly, Rusty, Sheriff, and even Granny, but you can do up more spooky-inspired stencils like ‘Franken-Early’ and ‘Count Sheriff’. Venture Bros also has a bunch of sketches but aren’t nearly as blueprinted and are really just a bunch of logos so, theres that.

Yep, this past Tuesday, Squidbillies Vol 5 released on DVD and as such contains all 10 episodes from last season which includes guest stars like T-Pain, Kevin Gillespie, Jesco White, Riley Martin and Billy Joe Shaver, and bonus features like Art + Music, and much more. The DVD is in stores now and I got it for $15 from Best Buy, check in next week for the review.

So, recently Adult Swim put out a call for people to come up with their own cover tunes of the Squidbillies theme song and boy did the fans come a crawling. Even better, the band Trampled by Turtles just did a video where they actually teamed up with Team Squidbillies to put together this music video for their first single “Walt Whitman” from the album “Stars and Satellites” which you can click on and buy from above on Amazon for under $10. So go out and buy it and check out the video below and tell us what you think!
