Bite on TV has certainly had its fair share of weird characters, and this one ranks right up with the best of them. Enter Billy, a goat kid whom is trying his best to get good grades in college so that he can impress the ladies and get a good job. It’s here we are introduced to a wizard named Frank whom claims to have a potion that can convince his professor to give him an extension for a late assignment. To do that, the duo must travel to Terrificland which is more or less like a Wonderland but on acid. Frank orders Billy to meet a tree named Jeff whom lives in a cave and has a rare sap that’s supposed to be a key ingredient in the aforementioned potion. Billy does just that, but when Jeff finds out that he’s been toiling around with Frank whom owes him $200 bucks, he flips out, but not before Billy grabs the potion and takes off. Turns out, this potion is a great way to get high, and that’s why Frank wanted it. Thankfully, Frank comes through on his offer and gives Billy the stuff he needs to mellow out his teacher.

Imagine if Rick and Morty were animated to look like Mr. Pickles, and you’d have a pretty good idea as to how Terrificland is put together. The series, at its heart, features a buddy comedy between two unlikely allies in a quest for drugs, and the journey is a lot of fun. In just under five minutes you meet talking owls, bridges, and trees in a sort of twisted take on Alice in Wonderland. However, the one aspect of the series that has be confused is who is the star of the show? Is ”Terrificland” the focal point of the series or is Billy? Is the future of the series pretty much hinging on Billy going to ‘Terrificland” every week on new quests and adventures? Or do the producers have the freedom to take their characters anywhere and maybe even put Billy into college-like scenarios like dating, bullies, and fucking with teachers? In my opinion, I think the producers should change the name of the series and maybe make ‘Terrificland” episode one. This way the writers aren’t putting together the same song and dance for us every episode, and further more, allows them to be more creative because while we have a bunch of hysterical dialogue, witty characters, and a good launch for a concept, I can see viewers eventually getting bored of a repetitive backdrop.

Watch it here to see for yourself.
