Season Review: Bob’s Burgers Season Seven

I wouldn’t be surprised if we got ANOTHER Bob’s Burgers episode aired while you’re reading this.

No, it wasn’t a “bonus” episode. The reason why Bob’s Burgers aired an episode in mid-June is that the network treats this franchise like literal garbage when it pertains to scheduling and it has been that way since the show’s first season. Whether it’s NASCAR or some sort of a shooting or football and in this case simply just forgetting that the schedulers had to pick a date for a 23rd episode that they clearly forgot about, Bob’s Burgers has had to deal with a lot of scheduling horseshit over the last several years.

This season continues to show that FOX has no idea what to do with what is probably the network’s best show and certainly the net’s best animated series. Whether it’s having more than a couple hour-long back-to-backs to go along with the sometimes only ONE new episode for a given month (September, January, and June), one has to ask…what the hell is going on here?

Fortunately for the fans, the producers of the show are doing just fine. The heart of Bob’s Burgers shines through despite the scheduling woes. For my money, the holiday episodes are the best feature of any Bob’s Burgers season, and it’s not just Halloween and/or Christmas episodes. Easter? Check. Thanksgiving? Check. Valentine’s Day? You bet your sweet ass, Valentine’s Day!!

After seven seasons, Bob’s Burgers shows no signs of slowing down. The people that work on the show still love doing it. The fans love it, verified by my viewing all of the pink bunny ears seen at the various Comic Cons, and I’m sure there’s gonna be some Emmy love. We just have to do a better job of reminding FOX network that Bob’s Burgers is still a TV show, and that episodes aired require scheduling.
