SDCC2017: “Family Guy” Second To Just “Rick and Morty” In Terms Of Crushing Animated Comic-Con

Possibly the series I’m most excited for this fall.

Who would have thought that going into the show’s 15th season on FOX, possibly the animated comedy I am most looking forward to this fall is Family Guy. There definitely seems to be a renewed vigor in the writer’s room as evidenced by the clip below featuring what we can expect in the show’s upcoming season, and with Alec Sulkin manning the fort at the Comic Con panel, it just seems like we’re getting back to that edge that the franchise was so good at the beginning of the millennia.

We’ve got a lot to look forward to, Ian McKellen has already been announced and Amanda Seyfried, Ryan Reynolds, and the cast of Modern Family are all on the way as guest stars. And yes, we’re going to get the final episodes of Carrie Fisher and Adam West, the former of which will see a departure in favor of new Pawtucket Brewery bosses voiced by Niecy Nash and Bryan Cranston.

In terms of storylines, the 300th episode of Family Guy will apparently be a love letter to Fast & Furious, and we can expect to see an episode that deals with the firing of Peter from the aforementioned brewery but with three acts as send ups as popular directors like Michael Bay, Quentin Tarantino, and Wes Anderson.

Family Guy is all-new starting October 1st @ 9 pm ET/PT, only on FOX.
