RWBY Vol.5 Blake Trailer Released

A new promotional trailer has been released this time focused on the angry, emo-Faunus freedom fighter Blake Belladonna.

Much of the trailer sums up that Blake is searching for answers in regards to the White Fang’s whereabouts within her homeland of Menagerie.

Our Take

The conversation between Blake and Illia (who was first introduced in Vol.4.) shares strong parallels to a brief exchange Nightcrawler & Mystique had in the movie X2: X-Men United about hiding who you are, But It’s clear that at some level, Blake shares a tumultuous relationship with the White Fang Spy. Despite Illia having the power to change her skin-colors to pass as a human, she has a strong moral gray area internally when you understand her reasons for rejecting whatever connections she had with humanity and joining a “Faunus Lives Matter” terrorist group like the White Fang.

RWBY Vol.5 will premiere October 14th on Rooster Teeth.
