RWBY lands Japanese Distribution

It was announced on Friday that Warner Brothers Home Entertainment of Japan  have secured the licence to produce and distribute DVD and Blu-rays of the series in Japan. The series will be dubbed in Japanese and released along with related merchandise in 2015.

“This is the first time any American-made anime has been marketed to Japan. It definitely usually works the other way around, and we’re really pleased about that,” said Matt Hullum, CEO of Rooster Teeth.

The animated internet series has been viewed over 61 million times on Blip, YouTube and Crunchyroll. The first season already has a huge following in Japan, with the season one soundtrack topping its music charts.
