ROBERT RODRIGUEZ TO BRING BACK ‘HEAVY METAL’

The 1980s were probably the best decade ever for anyone who loved Heavy Metal. Judas Priest released British Steel, heavy metal graced the pop charts with acts like Quiet Riot, Motley Crue, and Guns ‘n Roses, and in 1981 a film called Heavy Metal based off of the 1977 French magazine of the same name released mainly to a cult following.

Welp, 30 years later Robert Rodriguez announced at Comic Con that he now has the rights to do an animated reboot of Heavy Metal and according to Animation Magazine, he now has a production studio to start putting it all together. The name of the studio is Quickdraw Studios and they will be turning Heavy Metal into a more CG-animated affair. No word yet on a release date or who will be starring in it, but you can read the article here.
