Review: The Loud House “Legends” ; “Mall of Duty”

Legends of the Hidden Duty.

Overview (Spoilers Below)

“Legends”

Lincoln and Lynn Sr. decide to bond by going on Legends of the Hidden Temple and compete. Regardless of who their competition is, the boys are just excited to be here until the other team makes a bet that sees Lincoln and Lynn lose important features of their camaraderie which includes communication and teamwork. They lose the bet, but not before remembering what’s important about spending time together.

  “Mall of Duty”

Lucy, Lola, Lana, Lisa, and Lily are being watched by Lincoln while his parents and older sisters are out and about but one of Lincoln’s heroes, Rip Hardcore,  is having a book signing at the mall. Lincoln decides to take his sisters to the mall with him but they all disappear which leads Lincoln on an entertaining scavenger hunt throughout in order to find them and return them home safely.

Our Take

At first, I was a bit perturbed by the “Mall of Duty” episode being paired with the “Legends” episode, thinking the former would have been the standout given the history of Legend of the Hidden Temple, but as it turns out, “Mall of Duty” was the WAY better of the two episodes. While the first episode was more of a cliched “game show” trope that you’ve seen done countless times elsewhere, “Mall of Duty” ended up being WAY funnier and more action-packed. Yes, “Legends” featured some cool guest stars, but “Mall of Duty” featured a scooter chasing a train leaving Lincoln to go all Rambo.
