Review: The Fairly OddParents “The Kale Patch Caper” ; “Hare Raiser”

This thing needed to end.

Spoilers Below

“The Kale Patch Caper”

The Kale Patch kids are a collection of dolls collected by Chloe and forced upon Timmy for a play date. Timmy’s dad decides to join in with a small collection of his own until Chloe tries to steal one of them. After learning that stealing would lead to a life of crime. Chloe returns one of the toys and agrees to share with Timmy’s dad.

 “Hare Raiser”

The school gets a pet rabbit named Mr. Cuddles that’s definitely evil. Chloe decides to wish to let it out which causes the rabbit to eat both of the fairies’ wands and chase the kids all over the school until SHE gets something to eat for her babies. Cuddles settles down once eaten and the rabbit heads out.

Our Take

The real issue I have with this series as it comes to an end is just how poorly written it is. This episode features a couple of plots that are somewhat original, but the dialogue with all of the characters is rife with terrible puns and not well-written jokes catered to an audience that didn’t want them. Yes, it’s nice to get some original programming on a night/time usually devoid of original programming, but when Nicktoons switches out this franchise with Harvey Beaks and Pig Goat Banana Cricket, usually this series comes in a distant finish in terms of quality.
