Review: Spongebob Squarepants “Cuddle E. Hugs”

BIG HUGS!

Overview (Spoilers Below)

After eating a rotten Krabby Patty, Spongebob is greeted by an imaginary friend in Cuddle E. Hugs. Problem is, despite his best efforts, Spongebob can’t introduce Cuddle to anyone else because they can’t see him so he opts to fix the issue by serving rotten Patty at the Krabby Shack. It works, but really everyone trips out and imagines themselves being eaten by Cuddle. To help avenge his friends, Spongebob serves up the last of the rotten patty to Cuddle who ends up in his own nightmarish hell.

Our Take

A lot of other shows have done the schizo premise, but what’s great about Spongebob is that he makes everything his own. Jeff Garlin was the perfect voice for the role of “Cuddle” and the ending was really well done. As a matter of fact, I’d watch a whole show inspired by that ending. Fans of Spongebob should definitely cuddle up to this episode.
