Review: Red vs Blue “Quicksave”

Break outs.

Spoilers Below:

Washington and Carolina are recovering from being freed, but Locus is hesitant to bring them into the fight since they’re still not up to shape. Carolina asks Locus why he’s here and he explains that the Blues and Reds stole a power generator from a camp of refugees, killing them all. Washington is hallucinating, and Locus says they’re not fit for combat. He explains that he’s not going to kill anymore; he promised himself that he would change, and he’s not going back on that.

Andrews and Jax are in confinement, being watched by a grunt. Sarge goes to relieve the grunt, but the grunt says that Temple ordered that he stay there to execute the reporters. Sarge trains his gun on Andrews but ends up shooting the grunt. He begs the two reporters to convince the rest of them that he was undercover all along. Andrews agrees, under the condition that Sarge tells them his real name.

They go to the prison to attempt a rescue, and Locus joins up with them. Locus ends up commanding the mission and breaks them all out. Sarge tries to play off that he was a good guy all along, but the rest of them don’t believe it. He blusters for a bit but then admits that he was so ready to fight an imaginary enemy that he lost sight of himself. They reunite with the reporters and the Freelancers, but everything is quiet.

The machine is gone, but Andrews goes and retrieves Vic. Grif and Simmons have a talk, where Griff admits that he hates everyone but it’s boring without all of them. They say it’s good to see each other. Jax creeps up to shoot their kiss, and Grif knocks him out. They try to escape, but a swarm of grunts blocks their way. Tucker, eager for revenge, ruins the element of surprise. A battle ensues, and Washington, still dazed, stumbles out into the fray before being shot through his neck.

Overview:

Sarge realizes that he’s done something wrong, and returns to the Reds and Blues. He’s obsessed with the idea of war, the idea of having some sort of enemy to fight, that he was bored during their peaceful time away. When the opportunity to have an enemy to fight appeared, he took it, even if it meant siding with Temple. He admits his wrongdoings to his team and says that it’ll never happen again (probably). We still don’t hear his true name though.

Hopefully, Washington doesn’t die! It’s possible to survive, but he needs medical treatment right away.
