For the second time in four days, Disney XD will be airing the television premiere of a Marvel Funko Presents short.  If you missed our review on Friday of Cosmic Sleigh Ride check it out here.  The 90-second clips have been a fun collection of your favorite Marvel superheroes as Funko Pop! figures in cartoonish style.  Watch tonights premiere at 7:28 PM ET.

Overview (Spoilers):

Mjolnir Mischief is a clash of gods, as Thor takes on his adopted brother, Loki.  What leads them to this battle is unknown but, the god of mischief is undoubtedly up to his underhanded ways again.  Thor is easily taking care of the villain, when Loki pulls another of his tricks, transforming himself into Thor.  In a throw of confusion, Thor takes a hit and is knocked to the ground.  After calling for his weapon, Mjolnir, which only Thor is worthy to hold, Loki takes his chances and tries to catch the powerful hammer.  Clearly, Loki is not worthy as he is taken for a ride, costing the bad guy the fight.

Our Take:

The Marvel Funko clips have so far been creative takes on the characters and their unique powers.  Unfortunately, Mjolnir Mischief has just one purpose, and one joke, being that only Thor can hold the mighty hammer.  Sure, it is funny to watch Loki take another beating but, there could have been more involved in the scene.  Now that we have all seen Thor: Ragnorak (and if you haven’t, you really should) we know how entertaining these characters can be, and this video doesn’t bring any of what that film gave us.  This is one of the most uncomplicated Funko shorts released, and it lacks most of the fun and cleverness we have come to love.
