Review: Kirby Buckets “Battle of the Ballot”

Hopefully the real election is as funny.

Kirby throws a party in Mitchell’s office and is CAUGHT! His punishment? 100 lunches with Mitchell. The only way Kirby can get out of trouble is if someone runs for class president and bails him out. Dawn doesn’t seem to mind that Kirby’s out at lunch, but Kirby does, so he enlists Eli to run an honest campaign against no other opponents until…

Dawn enlists Sad Randy to run against Kirby so that she can continue to have her brother-less lunches. To help, Kirby gets fat Ricky to start lobbying on Eli’s behalf so as to sway public opinion. Unfortunately, for Eli, he’s gonna need more than Ricky to get public opinion on his side as Dawn and Belinda dig up some dirt on the poor bastard. Eli drops out which inspires Kirby to turn to Fish.

Fish has been battling the idea of running for school president, and Kirby gets him over the edge just in time for a three-way debate between Eli, Fish, and Randy via phone. Eli comes clean about how he raises money for his jerk-off campaign, but he isn’t the only dishonest candidate. We soon find out that Sad Randy is full of shit and Dawn put him up to it. She gets Kirby’s old punishment, and Fish wins the election thereby pardoning Kirby.

Our Take

By far, this was the best Fish episode of all time, and of course it makes sense to do an election episode this year. Leading up to his victory, I though Fish was just wasting my time, but he really did well. Sad Randy was a trip, too. But, the star was of course, Mitchell, who threw a heaping helping of shade at Eli during the debate that had me laughing in hysterics. Seriously, I wouldn’t mind lunch with Mitchell, he’s too damn good.
