After Oscar gives off the wrong impression to Esmargot, the girls become convinced that he is cheating on Angela and set up a sting operation to catch him in the act. But when their plan backfires, they must find a way to save his relationship before it’s too late.
Esmargot gets her seat belt fastened by Oscar so of course she automatically assumes that he is cheating on his girlfriend Angela who is at home playing video games. As such, the second she gets driven to the diner by Oscar she tells all the girls who make a big fuss out of it. They have no video taped proof so the girls team up and get a surveillance van to keep watch on the guy to make sure he ain’t a ‘playa’. Eventually, they find nothing and instead Shellsea makes a mock up video of Oscar admitting that he’s a playa.
When the real Oscar sees the video he freaks out and takes off destined to break up with Angela. Afterwards the girls talk to Esmargot who comes clean that she may have overreacted so Bea runs over to Angela’s house before Oscar gets there. To start, Bea grabs the real Angela and throws her into a van, then Bea dresses up as Angela so that she can put on a charade that Oscar doesn’t break up with the real Angela (get all that??) Oscar starts to feel better and goes for the make-up kiss only for the real Angela to show up and catch him smooching with Bea.
I have come to a startling conclusion with Fish Hooks. This is the closest we might ever get to Ren & Stimpy. What’s Ren & Stimpy? Well, it was a show back in the mid-90s on Nickelodeon that was really just edging on that line between kid-friendly and adult toon only for it to get cancelled. Now, granted Fish Hooks isn’t nearly as edgy as the old-school Nicktoon, but the style is awfully similar. Especially, whenever we get the closeups of the characters’ feet or fins or scalp or something like that I can’t help but draw the comparison. Oh yea, and here’s another comparison. Ren & Stimpy was the best show on Nickelodeon at the time(and certainly the best cartoon). Fish Hooks is by far and away the best cartoon on Disney.
