Albert falls for a vampire slayer.
Albert’s gotta it in for Esmargot but he always gets nervous around her when he wants to ask her out. As such, Oscar tells Al he should change who he is as that’s the only way he’s going to nab her. As it turns out, Esmargot and the girls are doing a vampire movie night and even though Esmargot is afraid of vampires, Al decides he should dress up like one to get her attention. All the girls love Al’s new look except Esmargot but she decides to have dinner with him anyway. Why you ask?? Welp, apparently Esmargot is a secret vampire hunter and has thousands of dollars worth of anti-vampire gear to prove it.
Thankfully, Milo and Oscar follow Al to dinner so as to coach him through with Esmargot but she leaves in tears. Al thinks its because he isn’t committed enough to being a vampire so he gets werewolf costumes for Milo and Oscar so that he can fight them to win over Esmargot once and for all. But, when Al goes to sleep, Esmargot comes by and grabs his bed where she then drags it outside so that by the time the wanna be vampire wakes up he is tied and about to burn in the sunlight! Thankfully, Albert makes it back in time before he dies only to be jumped and beaten to a pulp by two vampires. Mid-way through Al begs for it to stop as he no longer wants to be a vampire and instead just asks Esmargot out on his own accord.
This week’s episode of Fish Hooks was a great change of pace as we weren’t for the longest time getting another Bea/Oscar/Milo story and instead getting a fun go round with Al and Esmargot. I’ve always liked Albert the best because he’s funny and you can see his brain and Atticus Shaffer does a really great job as voicing the character. That said, Rachel Dratch is no slouch playing Esmargot, and does a great job playing the wanna be Buffy. It was also great to see Milo and Oscar play a support role, as opposed to the stars because it made them seem more joyful to be around because I wasn’t tired of them due to overuse. Great episode!
