Review: Bob’s Burgers ‘Eat, Spray, Linda’

It was all of our birthdays.

Spoilers Below

It’s Linda’s birthday and to celebrate Bob and the kids throw the lady of the night a home spa day.  The rest of the Belcher family are putting the day together while Linda goes out to do the grocery shopping. Problem is, Linda isn’t crazy about her birthday anymore and the day just by itself is kinda shitty. Shitty breakfast in bed, hassles at the store, and then the poor thing rips her pants while trying to get back in to her now locked out vehicle.

The food store manager acts like an asshole, so poor Linda has to board a bus home…which actually brings her nowhere near home. She decides to get off the bus and walk, but she breaks her glasses so now she probably doesn’t know where she’s going. Linn finally decides to hitch a ride where she ends up in a chalk street thing. The organizer is actually one of the people that was hassling her back at the store so a fight ensues.

Meanwhile, Bob and the kids are still trying to put together Linda’s spa day, but they might be going a bit over the top.  After a while, Bob’s trying to find out where his wife is. The family grows restless and opts to drive with Teddy to the store where they come across her car with the groceries inside. After following a bunch of leads that don’t work out, Bob and the kids head to a hotel where shes been known to poop, a pet store where she’s been known to hang out with Louise, and then home just in time to see their mom break into the house.

Our Take

So good. I couldn’t help but laugh my ass off with Gene’s more than expected poop jokes when we went to the hotel and Louise playing with the puppy was adorable. In any case, I really enjoyed this week’s episode of Bob’s Burgers as I felt it had sentiments seen in classic films like Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, Due Date, and Dumb and Dumber in that yes we get a rather cliche end but it’s the journey that’s a bunch of fun. The bus, messing with the chalk lady, and breaking into her house are all of the things that feel like a big tree made with funny branches and I was happy to hit every one of them on the leap down.
