Project Greenlight Contest Gets 10 Finalists…Only Four of Which Are Good…and One That Looks Incredible

The winner is already clear.

We told you guys last year about a contest that Project Greenlight Digital Studios (a collaboration between Adaptive Studios, Miramax, and Pearl Street Films)  was doing with Tongal where they are looking for the “Next Great Animated Series” and we now have the top 10 pilots for everyone to vote to move on to the next round and eventually get the grand prize…a date with Matt Damon.

Actually no, winners can get a bunch of cash prizes to put towards the production of their very own animated series. And while the selection committee picked 10 contestants, after viewing them all, I can safely tell you that really only four of them are worth looking at, with one that I hope steals the show.

Solid outings include Chinjas (a show about chicken ninjas that looks pretty damn impressive), Stephen King: The Animated Series (Stephen King solves bizarre crimes…), Kingdome Come Undone (None too different from the majority of the DiY stuff we get on Youtube), and my personal favorite, the marionette-series Senataur.

Senataur comes from Alec Pinkston and it features a half senator/half centaur dealing with the unruly logic of US politics. So far, it’s a shorts series, but it’s already seen the producers get a decent amount of trouble which includes letters from Donald Trump’s legal team which I think is a badge of honor if I do say so myself. As a result, THAT pilot gets our endorsement.

You can watch all of the pilots here and vote yourself here.
