We told you guys a while ago about the Squidbillies Season 8 start date and even gave you a first-look at the upcoming season which you can see here. Well, yesterday Adult Swim put out a press release not only announcing additional details for the Atlanta-produced series, but that of the highly anticipated premier for Mr. Pickles. For those that don’t recall, Mr. Pickles was part of the Adult Swim Pilots program that happened last year (and to be honest, I hope we get another round this year) and although it didn’t win fan votes to get an animated series produced for Adult Swim, the network must’ve seen the ground-swelling of support and decided to give a full-season order anyway. Similar thing happened to King Star King only that series stayed online-exclusive.

According to the press release:

America’s fourth favorite animated family returns for season eight of Squidbillies, featuring brand new grandiloquent episodes. Watch as the Cuylers kick the ass of America’s toughest issues, including marriage inequality, taint cancer, speciesism, and the impending Russian snake apocalypse. It’s good clean family fun for childless families!

To celebrate its new season on Adult Swim, Squidbillies will once again entertain audiences with a plethora of music stylings. Season eight of Squidbillies brings you a new cover of its theme song each week including renditions by Centro-matic, Dwight Yoakam, Todd Rundgren and King Khan and the Shrines. You’ll just have to tune in to hear them all first hand. Squidbillies is created, written and produced by Dave Willis and Jim Fortier.

As mentioned prior, Squidbillies returns on September 21st @ 12:15 only on Adult Swim. We’ve known about Centro-matic for a while now, but the new season just sounds so calamari that I can’t wait to get my hands on it. Mr.Pickles also got a statement from Adult Swim that reads as :

Mr. Pickles is Adult Swim’s newest original animated series set in the small, old-fashioned world of Old Town that is slowly being taken over by the modern world. The series centers on the lives of the Goodman family and their innocent six-year-old son Tommy, whose best friend is the family’s lovable border collie, Mr. Pickles.

The two roam around Old Town together getting into classic adventures. Unbeknownst to Tommy and everyone else, except Tommy’s Grandpa, Mr. Pickles has an evil streak and frequently wanders off to kill, mutilate and hump his deserving victims. But the one thing everybody knows about the sweet and adorable dog is that he loves pickles and he gets one every time he’s a good boy.

Mr. Pickles, a HotHouse production, is created and executive produced by Will Carsola (HBO’s Funny or Die Presents) and Dave Stewart (HBO’s Funny or Die Presents) and executive produced by Michael Rizzo. Along with guest star Brooke Shields, a great cast of voice-acting talent including Frank Collison (Eagleheart), Jay Johnston (The Sarah Silverman Program), Kaitlyn Robrock (Golan the Insatialbe), Carsola, and Stewart, is sure to entertain even the faintest of heart.

If you guys are NOT familiar with Mr. Pickles then I suggest you check it out right this second as I think this show could be the surprise hit of the century. Gonzo wasn’t a fan, but I fucking loved it and I can’t wait for the series to premier on September 21st @ Midnight EST, only on Adult Swim.
