Moscow Man to Build Real Version of ‘The Simpsons’ House

742 Evergreen Terrace

A hardcore Simpsons fan in Russia plans to build a life-sized replica of the famous family’s house.

The 35-year-old technical director isn’t just building it for show, but fully intends to occupy the house full time with his wife and kid, according to Interfax and the Nanokarkas Construction Company, who was enlisted to build it.

The project will cost approximately 5 million rubles (or $80,000, which actually seems reasonable, right? Anyone with $79,460 want to move to Russia?), and it isn’t the first of its sort.

For instance, back in 1997, 742 Evergreen Terrace was constructed by Kaufman & Broad Home Construction in Henderson, Nevada by request of FOX, The Simpsons, and Pepsi, for a giveaway contest.

That house eventually landed on the general market (because the winner was apparently coconuts and took the cash prize instead) and has since been remodeled to no longer resemble its original appearance.

Interestingly, the man building the Moscow house wishes to remain unnamed, which, considering Russia, appears highly suspicious to me. Given a Simpsons episode’s past predictions about the Soviet Union rising again, the house is likely concealing a Moscow KGB cell.

I mean, come on, it’s the last place anyone would suspect, right?
