Moonbeam City (and maybe TripTank?) not getting renewed by Comedy Central

As expected, Comedy Central has decided to NOT move forward with a new season of Moonbeam City after the show had a first season which was somewhat underwhelming to say the least. The show looked fantastic and had an excellent voice cast and soundtrack, but the writing department certainly failed this one from the get-go with repetitive story lines (half of the episodes were about meeting someone’s parents).

A more startling discovery is that apparently TripTank is on the hook as the show still has 10 un-aired episodes that haven’t been scheduled, but Deadline seems to thing that show may be in trouble as well which is somewhat disconcerting because show successfully spun-off a series in Jeff and Some Aliens which is precisely what I thought the show was supposed to do…be an incubator for new content.

Comedy Central has more animated fare on the way in which to successfully pair with South Park including Legends of Chamberlain Heights and the aforementioned Jeff and Some Aliensboth of which are currently in production of their first seasons. Legends of Chamberlain Heights is rumored to premiere late Summer or sometime in the Fall.

Bring back Brickleberry.
