What Does Mila Kunis’ Year Off Mean for Family Guy?

Meg-Griffin-Mila

Whilst scanning the headlines, I happened to read that a pregnant Mila Kunis said she will be taking a year off from acting after having her baby. No big loss, right? She already finished shooting her latest film, Jupiter Ascending, and despite my love for Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Ted – even Friends With Benefits wasn’t half bad – we as film fans could survive a year without her. (Although, credit where credit is due: she was pretty damn good in Black Swan.) And she hasn’t really done TV since That ‘70s show

Then it dawned on me: Mila Kunis is Meg Frickin’ Griffin, and that’s important. How soon we forget the ugly, smelly, loser Griffin child (although I suppose that description could also refer to Chris) is actually voiced by a beautiful actress.

Kunis told W Magazine that she’s “excited about being a full time mom” and “had already decided to take a year off.” Does this year off include voice acting? Remember, in addition to Family Guy, Mila also does a fair share of voices for Robot Chicken as well.

Still, Kunis hinted that a year might be all she can stand to be away from her profession, saying, “Give me a year of not working and I’ll see how I feel.”

As we previously reported back in November, the main Family Guy voice actors (Kunis, Seth Green, Alex Borstein, and Mike Henry) all signed new contracts for at least two more seasons – so maybe Kunis doesn’t plan to miss any recording after all. Even if worse comes to worst, it’s only a temporary problem.

What’s Lacey Chabert doing for the next year?
