Key & Peele-inspired animated series on the way??

Could be closer than we think!

V&M

I’ve been a pretty big fan of Key and Peele for a number of years now as I was raised on MadTV and anytime I can write about MADtv dudes having successful post-careers well then it’s a good day. So, when TVLine did an interview with Key and Peele the guys mentioned that they right now are working on an animated series for Comedy Central inspired by their Vandaveon and Mike characters.

For those that don’t know, Vandaveon and Mike typically appear as almost like a special feature to aired episodes of Key & Peele featuring the stars of the show doing cryptic and sometimes judgmental post-game shows of which ever K&P episode just aired. This proposed animated series would be 12 year old versions of Vandaveon and Mike only this time the duo is setting their targets on fellow classmates all trying to get famous on social media i.e. Justin Bieber. Meanwhile, Jordan Peele is attached to another Comedy Central series that is in development right now called Gajillionaires, but updates have been scarce since it was first announced last year.

The premise of the series sounds really hysterical, and I can’t wait to see if it comes to fruition. With the recent cancellations of Futurama and Ugly Americans, and the TripTank series premier up in the air we could use a few more good cartoons to add to the likes of Brickleberry and South Park.
