Kaboom! Is going to Revisit the Land of Aaa

Over two years ago, Kaboom! released their original run of Adventure Time with Fionna & Cake. Two years later, Kaboom! is releasing a new comic set in the land of Aaa. The best part of this new comic is that the fan favorite game of Card Wars, the same game that came out last year, is the central focus. Even though it’s been forever and a day since Fionna and Cake have been on the show, it’s great to see that someone writing the Adventure Time comics haven’t forgotten them. What’s To Love: We had such a blast with the Adventure Time with Fionna & Cake miniseries created by Natasha Allegri (Bee & PuppyCat) that we couldn’t wait to rejoin our favorite heroes in an all-new story from Jen Wang (In Real Life) and Britt Wilson (Adventure Time with Fionna & Cake) that features the actual Cryptozoic card game, Card Wars, which itself was created from the game in the show. It’s so meta!

What It Is: Cake is a Card Wars champ who can’t be beat, and Fionna…is really tired of getting beaten! They set off in search of a challenger who can really test Cake’s mettle. When they stumble across some gamer slugs, they think they’ve hit the jackpot, but these guys have never heard of Cake and refuse to even play with her!

And in case that wasn’t enough, a page was also released!

With all of that said, Adventure Time With Fionna and Cake: Card Wars #1 comes out in July. I’ll be waiting on Comixology to nab it!
