IFC IS LAYING PIPE WITH NEW STOP-MO SERIES ‘TIMMS INDUSTRIAL PIPING’

When I got the press release from IFC about their announced upcoming development slate, right off the top of it was a series called TIMMS INDUSTRIAL PIPING  that caught my eye. According to said release, the series is of the stop motion variety that takes place in Timms Valley, WI a town that like a lot of MidWestern towns, is intertwined with a company named Timms Industrial Piping. Evidently, the CEO of the company goes missing in a plane crash and this leaves the town scratching their heads. The show is, as mentioned, a stop motion series but with baby dolls repurposed as an array of adult characters, and modeled on 1980s primetime soaps like Dynasty. You would think this show sounds awesome, but maybe doomed, however wait until you read this excerpt from the release detailing cast, staff, and producers:

The show is written by Steven Conrad (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Pursuit of Happyness), and created by Conrad, Jeff Dieter and Tom Glynn. The show is produced by Conrad’s Chicago-based company, Elephant Pictures. Currently in production, the pilot features the voice talents of: Maria Bamford, Elizabeth Banks, Lance Barber, Giancarlo Esposito, Ed Flynn, Kathryn Hahn, Nick Kroll, Matt Levin, John Lithgow, Kumail Nanjiani, Mike O’Connell, and Seann William Scott.

What a CAST! Maria Bamford is one of the funniest women in comedy and is an accomplished voice over actress having worked on Adventure Time, S*perfuckersand Bravest WarriorsBut, throw peeps like John Lithgow and Nick Kroll, and now I’ve got a half-chub going on . Also, The Pursuit of Happyness was an outstanding feature film, so I think Steve Conrad is going to definitely write a smart show here which is good because the setting sounds pretty intense. No word yet on where the productions of the stop-mo is going down nor when it is set to air on IFC. It took about a year or so before Out There premiered to critical acclaim, I hope this doesn’t take as long.
