Hulu picks up ‘The Awesomes’ for a third season!
Hulu has announced a third season pickup for its hit animated series The Awesomes!
“When we first premiered season one of The Awesomes two years ago, we knew it was going to be a big success for Hulu. With a growing fan base from season to season and a cast featuring some of the funniest people on television, it was a natural decision for us to renew the show for a third season,” said Beatrice Springborn, Head of Originals, Hulu.
The second season is still young, and already it’s probably better than the very good first season. Any thoughts of the show experiencing a major loss in quality due to the lack of Bill Hader’s Dr. Malocchio character should NOT worry, because Will Forte is KILLING IT as ‘PurseMan’. Add in the fact that we have new semi-regulars in Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Colin Quinn (!!!!!) , and others, and you have a tour de force of top-flight names to more than make up for Bill’s absence.
No word yet as to when Season 3 will premier on Hulu other than a 2015 time-frame, however Bento Box will continue to produce the series. I wouldn’t be surprised if the show returns August 2015 for Hulu.
