FOX announces guest stars for The Simpsons’ 26th Season

The Simpsons are coming off of a rather odd season. On one-hand the series had a stellar cross-over LEGO episode, but it was also the first season in a long-time that didn’t garner a SINGLE Emmy-nom. FOX hopes to change all that this season as they have announced the start date and time for The Simpsons along with a number of guest stars and log-lines in a new press release.

THE SIMPSONS adventures continue this fall, beginning Sunday, Sept. 28, with a stellar array of guest voices, including Jane Fonda (“The Newsroom”), who is featured as Mr. Burns’ girlfriend, Democratic Assemblywoman Maxine Lombard; Willem Dafoe (“The Grand Budapest Hotel”) as Bart’s new bully-of-a-teacher, Mr. Lassen; and “Futurama’s” Billy West, John DiMaggio, Katey Sagal, Maurice LaMarche, Phil LaMarr, Lauren Tom and Tress MacNeille in a crossover episode between the two animated series. Additional 26th season guest voices include Nick Offerman (“Parks and Recreation”), Sarah Silverman (“A Million Ways to Die in the West”), David Hyde Pierce (“Frazier”), comedian Jeffrey Ross and musician Matthew Sweet. Plus, Judd Apatow (“Girls,” “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues”) pens a special episode scheduled to air later in the season.

The season 26 premier is said to be featuring the death of a very popular Simpsons character, and we have our guesses who. The return of David Hyde Pierce COULD signal the return of Sideshow Bob’s brother ”Cecil” but this is purely speculation. Note, we were also the first to report Jeff Ross‘ guest appearance, but it is unknown when that episode will air. The Simpsons/Futurama cross-over is slated to air on November 9th for FOX.

The Simpsons air Sunday Nights this Fall @ 8 pm ET/PT.
