Fish Hooks NOT getting a Season 4 from Disney

Well, this just plain stinks like fish…

Despite the fact that the show is one of the network’s best, Fish Hooks will NOT be getting a season 4 on Disney Channel according to the show’s director Maxwell Atoms. Even though the third season is really just starting on Disney, Max wasted no time in posting up on his Tumblr that after this third season, no more new Fish Hooks will be produced:

I’ve been working on Disney’s Fish Hooks for a few years now. Check it out if you haven’t. But no shorts or anything like that lately. We’re on our last season, so it’s almost time to figure out what comes next!

If it makes anyone feel better, typically Fish Hooks goes for 41 episodes aired and a lot of the times Disney spaces out the new episodes so it could very well be that we continue to get new episodes of the third season all the way until 2015! However, now we have to watch every episode of Fish Hooks knowing that the time is nearing.

I also suppose the time must have been nearing due to the fact that Disney has been picking up a bunch of new prime-time shows as of late to surround the strong Phineas and Ferb of which is turning into a monolith of cross overs for huge Disney-owned franchises like Marvel and Star Wars.  However, Fish Hooks has had a certain charm that few others could copy and would further solidify the careers of Alex Hirsch (Gravity Falls) and Justin Roiland (Rick and Morty).
