English Dub Review: Tonikawa Over The Moon For You “Parents/Daily Life”

Nasa and Tsukasa arrive in the town of Nara and head to the Yuzaki family’s house. Despite demanding to meet Tsukasa, Nasa’s parents, Enishi and Kanoka, are both clearly nervous. And not long after introductions, Enishi ends up making a special deal with Tsukasa…

“Daily Life”
After returning from Nara, Tsukasa and Nasa find themselves without a home thanks to a freak lightning strike. But fortunately for them, Nasa’s prepper habits managed to keep the damage to a minimum, but they still find themselves temporarily homeless, until someone offers to let them stay at the Arisugawa bathhouse.


Our Take

Tsukasa meeting her new In-Laws was filled with both laughter and some heartfelt moments. Nasa’s parents were so awkward meeting Tsukasa, but Nasa’s Dad thanking Tsukasa for saving his son’s life was a great moment. You can tell how deeply he cares for his son despite the wackiness of naming his son. But the weird unraveling twist with Tsukasa and the episode’s ending left me with more questions than answers…

But this is where the latter episode comes in, and you gotta give massive points for Nasa & Tsukasa’s courage at trying to positive even though their house burned, along with the other ways it realistically handled certain problems only couples would have. For instance, Tsukasa and Nasa have a conversation about how they’re going to manage the laundry and encounter embarrassment at the thought of seeing each other’s underwear which you’d think would be awkward or embarrassing but here it comes across as being cute and wholesome.

Both of this week’s episodes were pretty warm and sweet but in different ways while managing to approach realistic problems in ways that make sense. The laundry scene while funny, felt like a situation that only newlyweds who are still getting to know each other would actually behave.

Also, it would make sense that they’d both go shopping for new clothing, along with finding a new place to stay which hopefully should be a new adventure for them both.
