English Dub Review: Lupin the 3rd Part 4 “To Hear You Sing Again”

Sing, oh oh.

Overview (Spoilers Below)

Lupin steals a vintage Fiat, but Zenigata can’t do anything about it because he can’t damage the precious cargo. The car belongs to a dying singer named Nora Anita, and quite possibly, her soul is in this car. The car has an important history, as there are some romantic memories “locked in” with her husband who is sitting at Nora’s dying bedside. As Lupin’s ride with the car comes to a close, both the automobile and Nora go out exactly the way they wanted to.

Our Take

I’m not a car person, but I definitely believe there are people who have had such close ties with their autos that it’s difficult to see them go.

This week, Lupin and the normal crew, are really just a byproduct of a heartwarming story of everlasting love until the end that continues to showcase this series’ excellent storytelling attributes. It’s quite simply one of the best-made shows of all-time and this episode should be required viewing. Normally, you need not have known anything about Lupin to enjoy this series, so I highly recommend you catch this one onDemand with your significant other. If your “other” doesn’t approve, then it’s time to move on.
