English Dub Review: Fuuka “Fair Wind”

The wind came blowing in from across the streams.

Some Spoilers Below

What a finale. First, hats off to director Keizō Kusakawa who does a fabulous job of producing an exciting build-up to a climax ravaged with questions.

After hearing it from her mom, Tama, and finally getting a chance to talk to Yu, Fuuka returns to the band to play a big gig, but the ending still leaves a bunch of questions. For starters, Tama appears to be bringing the Rabbits band over from the manga series and the Hedgehogs reunite…for good? That remains to be seen. And how about Fallen Moon getting a record contract from the same dude that gave Fuuka her solo deal? Pretty compelling stuff, all of which would make for excellent points of interest for a second season follow-up.

And yes, a second season SHOULD be commissioned by Diomedea, and I’ll go into more detail in the season review about this, but I think Funimation should’ve considered adapting all of the songs to English. Maybe the American studio can reach out to a decent girl-fronted rock band and get some decent jams that could be released to the public. We can dream, right? Fuuka’s character is proof that we can.
