DVD Review: Adventure Time The Complete Seventh Season

Courtesy: Warner Home Entertainment

Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time is a true cult hit. Princess Bubblegum reigns over Candy Kingdom, and accordingly, she’s front and center on the seventh season DVD release. Quite literally. Season seven boasts the epic “Stakes” story arc, so let’s discover if the home video release is as enjoyable as the season…

Adventure Time season 7 DVD package

Bubblegum arrives as a die-cut on the outside packaging. It’s one of the more striking and pleasing to look at DVD sets I’ve received. Opening up the set, there are two DVDs featuring all 25 season seven episodes. Artwork, like on the series, is magnificent.

But it’s not just about pretty packaging. This two-disc set is ripe with extras. There are galleries which I really appreciated. Adventure Time features some of the top artwork of any animated series. As such, picture galleries are a pleasure to flip through.

You’ll find several fun animatics, and a behind the scenes glance at “Bad Jubies.” My favorite extras are the song demos which I’ve yet to see on any other home video release, movie or TV. The award-winning Adventure Time series gets a home video release that’s equally as enthralling. Not only does the bright pink color-scheme DVD set stick out on a shelf, but the extras provide a solid couple hours of entertainment. Notably, I liked the art galleries, as pretty much any Adventure Time scene would look gorgeous printed out and framed on a wall. Plus, the “Bad Jubies” making of featurette is a gem among the extras.
