“Dragon Ball Super: Broly” Drops Legendary First Trailer!

Okay, but what about YAMCHA Vs. Broly?

With hype at power levels that would shatter the sturdiest of scouters, yesterday saw Funimation’s release of the first trailer for the upcoming twentieth film in the Dragon Ball franchise, “Dragon Ball Super: Broly”. With it comes a clearer look at what some of the show’s most iconic heroes AND VILLAINS will be up against when the not so jolly green giant touches down in theaters this coming winter.

Coming off the big showdown at the Tournament of Power, the most recent arc in the series, Goku is still eager to surpass his previous limits. He may just get the chance as at least two unknown Saiyans arrive ready for a fight, one amongst them being the titular Broly, who turns out to be a quick learner and gives everyone, including the recently revived Frieza, a run for their money.

Besides the crisper animation and fresh new designs for most of the returning cast, this trailer seems to show that, while this movie will be written and designed by original author Akira Toriyama, there are at least some elements brought over from “Broly: The Legendary Super Saiyan”, Broly’s original first appearance. Of note is the apparent reuse of Broly’s father Paragus, who manipulates his son into reeking vengeance on Vegeta and his legacy for their betrayal of him.

As this is big convention announcement season, more new details should arise soon, but for now enjoy the first trailer and keep up with Bubbleblabber as things develop.
