Comics Review: Axe Cop #3

23838

Axe Cop’s in heaven and he’s getting antsy, so he gets told all about his origin stories which are just as weird as anything you’ve ever seen. Turns out Axe has completely different parents than what we though, and as a matter of fact, his mom is alive in Arizona City, Arizona. The ‘Heavenly Axes’ chop Satan’s head off, and meet Axe’s mom, but we learn that the real Satan isn’t dead so we end up  getting through alien Satans, clone Satans, and even bug Satans before we get anywhere. After a bunch of bad-ass battles, the team heads back to heaven and get some ham.

This month’s issue is just ALL over the place, but that’s what makes Axe Cop…Axe Cop. The character design on the numerous bad guys is just absolutely the best in the business and I don’t think there’s anyone else doing it this way. The plot gets dicey, but overall this issue is one of the funniest things I’ve read in a while. I would kill a few Satans for ham myself, so can’t fault anyone there.
