@ComedyCentral Goes to the Moon with ‘MoonBeam City’ pilot order
Actually, the series will probably have nothing to do with space travel (sorry Futurama fans!)…
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Comedy Central has ordered a pilot for a new animated series called Moonbeam City which is being ‘billed as an absurdist take on neon-soaked 1980s crime dramas, centers on Dazzle Novak, a handsome yet moronic undercover detective who does everything in his power to avoid solving crimes’. According to the article, Scott Gairdner (Conan, Funny or Die Presents) will be writing the pilot alongside Will Gluck and Richard Schwartz.
So yea, even with the cancellation of shows like Ugly Americans and Futurama, its good to see Comedy Central is still looking at some of the best talent out there for animated showmanship. With Brickleberry and South Park on the way and new arrivals like Gajillionaires and Trip Tank on the horizon, Comedy Central is making sure their network has no shortage of toonage.
Hi Ashley, thank you so much for reading and we love the feedback. Note that on that day we had 14th posts go up and only ten posts show on the front page, so it's possible the preview had already been archived by the time you got to it. One recommendation would be to add our RSS feed to your favorite news aggregator service like Feedly, this way you get all of the latest posts!
